The transparency engine

Hiring shouldn't be silent.

Every employer on JobOpod commits to a public response timeline at the moment of posting a job. The platform enforces it — with automatic status transitions, mandatory rejection reasons, and visible response statistics on every company profile.

JobOpod's defining promise is that no applicant is ever silently rejected. The platform enforces this with three load-bearing mechanisms — and one principle.

No applicant ever receives a silent rejection.
Acceptance criteria, §20

1 · The response promise

When an employer posts a job, they pick a response window between 7 and 30 days. Default is 14. That is the maximum time before they must give your application a status update other than Pending.

You apply

Application status: Pending. Promise countdown begins.

Employer reviews

Status moves to Viewed → Shortlisted → Interview Scheduled → ...

Resolved in time

Offer, rejection (with reason), or further interview — the promise is kept. Counts toward the employer's response stats.

Promise expires

Application auto-transitions to No Response. You are notified immediately. Counts against the employer's response stats.

Platform bounds

7 days minimum · 14 days default · 30 days maximum

2 · Every rejection carries a reason

Rejections require a reason from a controlled vocabulary. Selected reasons (not free-text) are shown to the applicant on the application detail page. "Other" requires a written explanation of at least 20 characters.

The controlled vocabulary

  • Skills mismatch
  • More experienced candidate selected
  • Less experienced candidate preferred
  • Position filled
  • Position cancelled
  • Location mismatch
  • Salary expectation mismatch
  • Other (explanation required)

3 · Public stats on every employer

Every company profile publicly displays the following stats over the last 90 days of activity. These numbers update nightly and on-demand.

Median response time
Time from application submission to first non-Pending status. Lower is faster.
Response rate
Percentage of applications that received any status update before the promise deadline. 100% means nobody was ghosted.
Feedback rate
Percentage of rejected applications with a reason. Mandatory, so compliant employers always show 100%.
Interview experience
Anonymised aggregate of post-interview ratings. Individual scores never visible to employers.
Applications received
Total in the 90-day window. Surfaces healthy demand for the role and company.

4 · Positive-only badging

Earned, not awarded. JobOpod uses positive badges only — there is no "slow responder" label. The absence of positive badges is the signal.

Fast responder

Median response under 7 days

Always gives feedback

100% of rejected applications have a reason

Salary transparent

95%+ of jobs posted with a salary range

Top verifier

Long-tenured verified employer with no enforcement events

5 · Strikes and accountability

When an employer repeatedly lets applications expire with no response, a strike is added to their company record. Strikes fade after 90 days — a rough patch doesn't follow a company forever — and a trust admin can overturn a strike on appeal, always with a logged reason. Strikes flag a pattern for our trust team to review.

The principle

Accountability without permanent punishment. Patterns of behaviour matter; isolated incidents fade.
